He came
into our lives,
Soaring upon wings of the wind.
In a moment, Frozen forever in time,
Shattering our silent gaze,
He leapt into broken clouds. |

A
Poem Written by Scott's Friend, Daniel Inglis
Saturday, April 8, 2006, at Beach
Service in Hawaii |
Scott, our son, and Shannon's brother packed an amazing
life into 35 years. Scott left us unexpectedly on
March 10, 2006 on Maui, Hawaii. The Spicola family
moved to Scottsdale in 1981. Scott was a graduate
of Brophy College Prep in Phoenix, and the University
of Hawaii. Scott was the proud owner of Alii Brewery
in Honolulu until 2001, and then worked as a self-employed
contractor on the west coast and in Hawaii until his
untimely passing. Scott was truly a "FREE SPIRIT"
who loved every aspect of his life in Hawaii.
Scott loved surfing and traveled extensively to surf
his dream spots. He never met a stranger and his door
was always open. Scott will be greatly missed by everyone
he has touched and loved - especially his heartbroken
family, his magnitude of friends, and all the children
he cared for so deeply.
His parents, John and Muriel, and sister Shannon,
all of Scottsdale - his paternal Grandmother, Carmela
Spicola, and his treasured aunts, uncles and cousins,
all in Rhode Island - cannot realize a life without
him and his infectious smiling eyes.
A heartwarming service was held on March 14, 2006
in Cranston, R.I. Scott had visited there three weeks
prior to celebrate his Grandmother's 90th birthday.
Per Scott's request, a private Aloha ceremony will
be held on the North Shore of Oahu on April 8th. Scott's
life will be celebrated on April 9th by his Hawaiian
family and friends at 7:00 PM at O'Toole's
in Honolulu, with Stephen
Inglis leading in music.
A private gathering of love will take place in Scottsdale,
Arizona on April 15th followed by a celebration at
his dear friend Arthur's restaurant, Four
Peaks Grill & Tap on the Southeast corner
of Hayden and Frank Lloyd Wright Boulevard in Scottsdale
from 4:00 to 7:00 PM. All are welcome.
Scott would want his legacy to be beneficial to children.
The Spicola Family has set up a memorial fund to bring
continued joy to the Keiki of the North Shore of Oahu.
Contributions should be made to the Scott
Spicola North Shore Keiki Play Fund and mailed
to PMB 605, 10115 E. Bell Road, Suite 107, Scottsdale,
AZ. 85260.
Scott will be forever missed ~ but know that
Scott is saying Aloha and Mahalo to all who touched
him. |
